[VIDEO] Highways England repair damaged bridge at A47 in King’s Lynn

Highways England has released a video showing timelapse footage of bridge repairs at the A47 in King’s Lynn.

The footage shows first-hand just how the two new 28-metre long steel bridge beams were fitted to replace the previous beam which was damaged.

Located at the Saddlebow interchange, the repair work was required at the A47 because of damage sustained last year after the bridges were struck by an over-height vehicle.

It is part of an £18 million package of work at the A47 in Norfolk to maintain the road.

Ajith Nair, project manager at Highways England, said: “Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Highways England, and this work we have been doing on Saddlebow Bridge and elsewhere on the A47 will improve both safety and journey quality for drivers.”

The video provides a comprehensive look at how the repairs were undertaken.
